KevinG Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 That is interesting! I bought some stuff...online or whatever...and ack-attack! I just want it now! I don't like when I check the mail and its not there, which means obviously waiting another 24 hours. But when it comes I wouldn't throw a fit with the postal services fellowOf course it could be you are just bad at waiting for mail.
Duncan Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Of course it could be you are just bad at waiting for mail. to quote Barney Rubble, "Could be, Could be!"
CV75 Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I think that patience is a necessary extension of faith and hope: "But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." (Romans 8:25.)Amen to that! I wonder in these studies how many were able to apply true faith and hope as they became accountable. My hypothesis is that less than 0.2% found the blessings of the restored gospel.
CV75 Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 In 1996 I was ESFJ but i don't know what that means or if I am like that now, but I am impatient kind of with situations not necessarily with people-as in I have a strong displeasure towards waiting for certain mail to come!As I get older I exhibit more equally weak tendencies for E/I N/S T/F J/P. I think that comes from subconsciously learning how to deal with different situations and automatically kicking in with a preferred style accordingly.
Calm Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 But this infers there should be little or no correlation as well to later attributes in life if the ones who waited the longest just happened to dislike marshmallows. As presented, there is really nothing that can be inferred with any solid grounding statistically speaking (the actual study may be different). Elder Uchtdorf is using 'common sense' and assuming what is the cause of the behaviour (and I wouldn't be surprised if such were true), but without more detail even 'common sense' can only take one so far.PS: My suggestion was that those who waited the longest liked marshmallows the most (and thus were willing to wait if they got more), not the reverse...
