I have no idea what the perfect anniversary would be for you and your wife, but I think for me and mine it would be to go through an endowment session of the Salt Lake Temple (we were married in the Orlando Temple) my wife has never been to that grand Temple (although we did go to the Nauvoo Temple a few months after we were married). As far as "secular things" my wife has said she would love to go to Hawaii and also to Puerto Rico... maybe some day.In the mean time congratulations again... 35 years is a long time (I think I was in high school about that time- 1976). So celebrate your eternal love.

I would have suggested dinner on the moon but flights are not available yet. Seriously Pa Pa by this time I seriously doubt that it matters much where you are at but only that you are together.

God has blessed you with still growing family it seems.Mrs. Mudcat and I celebrate our 13th anniversary this Friday. I dunno what the perfect thing to do on your 35th. Seems anniversary ending in a 5 or a 0 get special standings being the mark or turn of a decade. Dunno your budget for such things. Some people spends lots on anniversary rings and that sort of thing, but extra cash is scarce these days. Our normal anniversary thing to do, is to rent a weekend cabin in the Gatlinburg area and do a bit of skiing. Your closer to that area than myself IIRC. You can get a secluded cabin, with jacuzzi, pool table, kitchen and so forth for about $75 a night since it's there off season. Shopping in Pigeon Forge and even though a number of the outdoor attractions are closed, except the ski are... there are lots inside things... a big aquarium, Ripleys and so forth.If you think you might go that way, send me a PM. I think I still have the number of the rental place we have had good luck with in my cell phone and I'll give you the number.Cash will be tight around the Mudcats until the loan closes on our house mid Feb. so a trip is out of the question. Despite the recent fray with my MIL, she has volunteered to be an overnight sitter for the three kiddos. No big plans, dinner out... maybe a movie and a romantic evening at home. My suggestion, given your talent for poetry would be a poem to her. Maybe something with a theme of 35, based on kids and grand kids, you could knock out more than a dozen verses right there.... just a thought.What ever you do, make her feel special. To early for this weekend...but for next a good idea. You are a life saver. I think I have enough points on a vacation plan to go for free. I am glad I asked. From us it is only 5 hours.

THEN take her away (or if you are hiring others to do it, take her away while they do it. Have to tell you that 3 days is too little time to plan for a 35th celebration.

My hubby and I are celebrating our 39th anniversary this Saturday (one day before yours) and I also had a one year old daughter, when we were married, that he soon adopted. She is now 40 years old and has given us two beautiful granddaughters.Anyway, I hope you have a special day!We are going out to dinner at a nice restaurant, and maybe to a movie. Nothing big, but it'll be nice. The kids want to throw us some kind of party next year (for the 40th).Have fun and again Congratulations!!

I really miss him, particularly at this time of my life... but oh what memories I have!! The best ones are mixed... some quiet ones... and some really wonderful trips together.You know your dear wife best... what would SHE want most? A quiet evening, or going away somewhere special? As a gift, if she wears jewelry, I would envision a teardrop diamond pendant. Something special that you would not normally give...And, of course, on a more spiritual level, a trip to the temple (I was always envious... holy envy...as I watched couples holding hands as they walked down the temple hallway to the endowment room. Something I was never able to share with my dear one).All good wishes... GG

Bill “Papa” Lee Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 I have no clue, I can't figure out what to do myself for my 1 year anniversary with my Wife this Saturday, which is also her Birthday, it seemed like a great idea to get married on her birthday last year. Now with the first anniversary less than a week away I have no clue what I can do that will fulfill an anniversary and birthday! plus valentines day is next monday. If I screw this up I am dead on arrival! LOLYes you are...I will pray for you.
