mercyngrace Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I looked at my new profile, and noticed that my post count went down by a few thousand. What gives?John, mfbukowski asked the same question in the "Welcome Back" thread, iirc. IIRC, it's a result of threads being deleted with the board change.
Pahoran Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I looked at my new profile, and noticed that my post count went down by a few thousand. What gives?I think the same thing happened to everyone. If you look at the post count under your name here in the thread, it still shows the historical quantity of posts you have contributed.Regards,Pahoran
silvermoon383 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Is there any chance that threads that didn't survive the transfer can be recovered?
mercyngrace Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Is there any chance that threads that didn't survive the transfer can be recovered?I just googled looking for some info a few minutes ago and got hits for several old madb threads which when clicked resulted in the "Page not found" error message.
Calm Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Is there any chance that threads that didn't survive the transfer can be recovered? We asked for input on who wanted what saved, sorry you missed it if you did. If there are threads you want saved in the future, I would suggest PMing one of the archivists once it has moved off the first few pages and ask them to move it into the archives, no need to wait until the next update as if you take a holiday for a month or so, you may miss it.
mfbukowski Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Best policy, imo, is just make a copy yourself. I make a print file and then select all and copy and paste to text, then save the file obviously. There are probably better ways, but I am not very good at this stuff.
