Vengeance Is Mine (Turley / Brown)

I've apparently been living under a rock, and only now noticed that this came out.

Has anyone here read it?  Recommend, or no?

Is Ronald Walker's missing presence noticeable, or were Turley and Brown able to keep the same overall "voice" of this volume?

Been a long 16 years waiting for this... I had almost forgotten that it was supposed to happen.  I thoroughly enjoyed (not sure if "enjoyed" is an appropriate word for the subject matter... but... yeah....) the first volume.  Curious if the second volume is as good.

I enjoyed.  I don't know about the "voice" but I felt that it went pretty in-depth on the interplay between the different government officials and church leaders.  I wish it had gone more in depth on the impact to the participants.  It mostly focused on Lee.

Thank you so much webbles.  Do you think it had the same sociological tone (for lack of a better term) in attempting to contextualize and make sense of motives/actions, or was it more of a "this is what happened... and here are the sources"?

It definitely wasn't the latter.  There was a lot of discussion on the various factions involved in the coverup and investigation and why they were doing it.

You rapscallion.  🤨

I love that word…wish I could think of more reasons to use it now my kids are grown.

I like to toss around tomfoolery once in a while too.  "Throw a wobbly" is also a favorite (in lieu of tantrum)... although it might be my son's least favorite.

When my (ex)wife was working on her first degree, and taking a western philosophy course, I accidentally/instinctively put that someone was a rapscallion while proof-reading and editing a paper.  The professor commented on it, and she threw me under the bus as the rogue editor that took license.  Fortunately, the professor got a good laugh out of it, and ultimately agreed with the word choice.  I had to be a lot more careful in letting my "voice" run amok after that (I may have creatively referred to someone as a "turd hurricane of tomfoolery" while proof-reading a movie review for another course... I am but a human).
