No, it just means that you cannot do the endowment and some other ordinances yet- you need the Melchizedek Priesthood for that.  But that will come- it's up to the Bishop to decide- it usually takes a year or so after your baptism, and a worthiness interview.

The interview questions for the endowment are here:

Okay thank you.

I wish I knew the array of languages he has at his command- and learning to spell English is something I still have trouble with!  :)

English is not hard. But i still make so many mistakes. Mistakes i'm not even aware of.

It means you can do baptism's for the dead only. And when my kids got theirs I believe it needs to be renewed every 1 to 2 years, but I'm not sure. So it's not for the endowment/sealings/washing and anointing sessions.

I can't even baptize living people?😭

Yes you can. What she means is in the temple.

You're Dutch, right? Dutch is the national language closest to English.

No, you CAN!

You can baptize living people AND dead people in the temple.

Living people anywhere and only dead people in the temple only.  No living people are baptized in the temple for themselves, only as proxies for dead people

You just cannot yet take on other ordinances in the temple, like the endowment, until your bishop and stake President approves it.

I remember being in Amsterdam and riding a bus, where there were conversations all in Dutch, and my brain kept trying to understand them, because I speak some German and English and French.

Dutch sounds completely like English- yet you can't understand it!

My curious brain kept trying, naturally, to listen to a conversation, only to be frustrated. All the elements were there, Brainy just could not make them coherent to me!

In other countries those conversations were just babble, so El Braino just ignored them, but in The Nether regions, oops NetherLANDS, "No Comprehendo" kept flashing on my screen.

Frustrating for a busybody! 🤪

I am sure learning English is easy for a Dutch speaker, but the details must be hard, because the languages are so similar.

We could help you with those details, but I for one don't want to offend you; I would never even TRY to take on a board like this one, in say, Deutsche or Dutch. :)

I'm happy that i have done it. I whas ready for it. After i have waited for a while. This whas a good time to do it.

First correction? Is that ok? 🤔

"Was" has no "h", it is "WAS".

Again just to help IF you want it! 😉

If you want me to shut up about that, just say so!

Dario, I am assuming you were ordained a priest. Perhaps you were given a copy of Duties and Blessings of the Priesthood manual. That has been the standard reference manual for decades, at least for English speakers and Spanish as well iirc.

Here is the section on what a priest can do and what is expected of them.   I just spent a half an hour trying to find the Nederlands version of it, thought for sure they would have it, but maybe not.

https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/duties-and-blessings-of-the-priesthood-basic-manual-for-priesthood-holders-part-a/history-and-organization-of-the-priesthood/lesson-7-duties-of-the-priest?lang=eng

This is the topic list they use (they have the details after this:

Duties of a Priest

Teach the gospel.

Baptize.

Administer the sacrament.

Visit the members.

Ordain others to the Aaronic Priesthood.

Assist in missionary work.”

I was hoping changing the language setting in the address to lang=nld would work, but no go…

lang=ept appears to be the ending for Portuguese (Portugal) materials if they exist.

Works changing it to lang=deu for Deutsch.

Yes but you are right. Dutch and English looks a lot like ech other. Really similar.

Did you guys know that when i lived in the Netherlands i was actually really close to England?? I lived close  to the North sea. Alkmaar.

Funny that the language triggered you so much btw. 🤪

Though....i find the English language the most beautiful language there is on the whole world. Dutch is not that beautiful in my opinion.

ooh and sorry that i said "whas" insted of "was." Didn't realise that. In the  Dutch language "was" is also without a h.
