She's talking about unpaid advisors who help in a scene or two and the article is talking about paid employees who are part of the script writing or production. Reading the reviews, it does seem like the show could have really been helped if it had an actual member to work with the script. For one, they should have been able to point out that Joseph Smith didn't translate the Times and Seasons from the hat. I'm also having difficulties after reading the book on why the show decided to show the temple scenes when the book doesn't make that connection and even Dan and Ron don't make that connection. Reading reviews of the show, it is almost like the book and the show are two different things. I thought true crime shows were more accurate and tried to actually show what happened. But in this case, it almost looks like the show is just a piece of fiction that is roughly based on the crime. I find that disappointing since I think the story is worth telling. 1
Calm Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 (edited) I think I have narrowed in on why I have to turn this off so often. The Laffertys are whiners. They have an angsty tone. I avoid high school and soap operas for a reason. That kind of whining angst is like fingers on a chalkboard for me. Always has been. Pity partyers are so boring. Edited May 10, 2022 by Calm
