A search on google also finds recent uses in the other areas I mentioned. Well then using the word Mormon should continue to be used as well, since there are hundreds of current examples for using that term. 16 hours ago, JustAnAustralian said: I think you may be misinterpreting what the Wikipedia article says. It's not saying that the use of same-sex attraction should be avoided, it's saying homosexual and homosexuality should. In society for males sure. But I doubt it would be long before women who are attracted to women would want lesbian used too. Last time I checked the acronym people use starts with lgbt not just gbt. I completely agree with you that the Church should be using both gay and lesbian rather than SSA. 16 hours ago, JustAnAustralian said: your freedom for all Americans quote does however say to avoid it, so thank you for pointing out that one. If swapping to use gay as a sanctioned catch all term for the sexual attraction between people of the same sex will lessen overall offence, then sure, but I only see that causing problems, given current society generally sees gay as referring only to males. There is no problem. No one is saying not to use the term lesbian. What they are saying is it is offensive to some to use the term Same Sex Attraction. It is not an attraction, it is an orientation. This is one of those easy policy fixes that would cost the Church nothing to change. Yet it doesn't. While expecting people to use the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they should use terms that are properly preferred in the LGBT community and the population as a whole. To those that are sensitive about this issue, it feels totally hypocritical to expect people to use proper terms for the name of the Church but ignore proper terms when referring to the LGBT community. 2

Shows I’m on the right track in that thing at least. The fact that you are proud of that again speaks volumes. Right track? I guess that depends on your perspective. If over the top sanctimony and self righteous piety is your goal you are doing very well 2

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Those claims do not contradict current or past prophetic edicts. From President Nelson’s general conference address of October 2018: “The rest of the world may or may not follow our lead in calling us by the correct name. But it is disingenuous for us to be frustrated if most of the world calls the Church and its members by the wrong names if we do the same.” (Emphasis mine)
