Here in Utah (and most other states) our voting systems are computerized, but with a paper backup for auditing purposes.  Thus, even if a cosmic ray induces errors, they are caught in the paper recount.

Cosmic ray events are rare and if they do induce errors they are more likely to crash something instead of giving bad data.
