No one is interested in the case in my family, and for some reason there is a glitch on my WS account that prevents me from posting on websleuths. There are no other sites discussing the case that don’t spend the bulk in just expressing emotional reactions and I not interested in that type of discussion, so this stuff percolates in my head and bursts forth every now and then. Did a lot of editing on the above as it first was rather disjointed. It helped, I think, that I knew of Daybell earlier than just the murders as that provides quite a few additional insights IMO…but trying to find where I read Rowe describing the process of him editing her books and their relationship, that would take massive work, so apologies for not providing sources. The lawyers no doubt have a lot more commentary from her family at least (sister talked to DA, plus they could get access probably to files on the dad). There may be something that turns my analysis on its head. This is the first “true crime” case I ever studied….well, maybe the Bishop/Denson one qualifies for that…first “true crime” that has attracted interest outside the LDS bubble. The intellectual side of me is looking forward to the case to see how good I am with real life stuff as opposed to having watched so many mysteries in the past, it is pretty easy in many cases to know where the writers are headed…and honestly in most tv dramas, one can tell the bad guy by how well known the actor is playing him. I may not know someone is the killer or even who the victim is going to be, but can pick the killer out usually as soon as they appear in scene. Wouldn’t it be great if real life was like that? Except for the twist times where the innocent fits the killer role for a bit. What is most likely though is the gaps I want filled will be left empty as irrelevant to the case. Otoh, when the case gets real to me, when I see those involved as real people and not characters of a tragic farce, I want to just walk away. It is very depressing on many levels, including what are church members doing getting involved in some of this stuff surrounding the two of them. Edited August 11, 2021 by Calm 1
