Calm Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 We seem to be having an unusual number of new posters lately and I am curious why you all have chosen to grace the board. Would love to hear what brought you here. Usually if we get a spike it is at the end of the semester. 1
Popular Post let’s roll Posted March 27, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 27, 2019 (edited) Hi Calm, Not sure if I meet your criteria for a new poster, but I’m certainly newer than most posters I’ve seen here. I enjoy your posts and your kind reaction to many of mine. I moved to Utah a few years ago after having lived on the east coast, west coast and the south. I missed spiritual discussions with members of other faiths and prayed for direction as to how I might share my faith and benefit from hearing of the faith of others of different faiths as well as my own. I received a strong prompting to go on line. I’m not a Luddite, but I never spent much time on line, having never had a desire to do so. As a result I hesitated on following the prompting and continued to pray. I had a strong impression that “you have my answer” so I stopped rebelling and started to search for a forum. I found mormon dialogue almost immediately. I don’t comment on many threads, but have found a number of threads of interest and have also enjoyed the diversity of ideas and opinions. I’m slowly learning how to distinguish the sincere posters from the purely argumentative ones, and strive to always be respectful during that learning process. I invite you and others to remind me if I ever fall short in my strivings. Edited March 27, 2019 by let’s roll 5
Popular Post Maureen Posted March 27, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 27, 2019 I don't know if I would be considered new. I tend to lurk and read more than post. I'm a regular poster at the ThirdHour forum (aka MormonHub, lds.net). I was finding the threads at ThirdHour were getting a little boring and noticed that this place is more free to discuss topics. This place is not boring. M. 7
