I wasn't commenting on whether it was pre-Christian rather that scholars are by their very nature secular as that is the domain in which they operate. I don't recall where I read the scholars shifting date for the Book of Enoch as I have written three articles on the Book of Enoch and The Davidic Servant - I seem to recall them moving the date only so far as the Dead Sea Scrolls era. There have been some excellent points made in this thread but there is no secular way to discredit a book that is miraculous by nature. Whether the verses in question in Mark were a 5th gospel or oral tradition or - heck - even if Joseph Smith was inspired to just copy certain sections from the Bible - does not in any way invalidate knowledge which is attained through faith Ether 12:6 style and not through a secular method.
