1) Professional medical help.

2) Look into DBT, CBT, or Mindfulness Meditation. Get someone qualified to explain it to you and help you practice.

What is your point?  That I was right and it is pretty well documented?

You said " Funny how a lot of people know nothing of Smith's and Brigham Youngs masonic roots".
As you showed, it's even on Wikipedia.  It's hardly hidden information.

About Joseph Smith being made a mason on sight, it did happen.  He was able to sidestep all the memorization that you go through for the degrees.  To really find out you would have to go to the grand lodge of Illinois and search the records.  Brother Smith was made a mason in a day, hence the phrase mason on sight.

I had given it some thought, and came back this day to offer some very similar advice.

poptart, consider: in addition to obtaining appropriate medical help, and spiritual help/counseling, I would second halconero's suggestion of including some form of eastern (based) meditation. Personally though, I would stay away from trendy, self-help, popularized Mindfulness meditation. Instead, look for something with real roots and a lineage of teachers, even better if they also have mental health training.  I will repeat what was said—find someone qualified. Just speaking from a place of experience.

I would add to that drumming. Well, drumming, singing, maybe a little dancing (with time and practice for the other parts of course, but seriously just drum...).  Find yourself a frame drum, something along the line of Siberian, Native American, or Irish drums and go at it. There are middle-eastern frame drums, but they are harder to find. Drum, this is another suggestion from a place of experience.

Drumming is deep, deep, in our religious DNA, even if we don't acknowledge it. Toph!
