strappinglad Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I think death is over-rated. It seems like it is similar to walking through a door. Life is the tough part. People who live years or decades with pain or disability are the ones who have a bone to pick with God. If I ever get the chance , I will not ask why God took someone home, I will ask why He left them here so long suffering. " All these things will be for your benefit " . I certainly hope so.

And of course he has his own ministry, writing and selling books and has become famous on TV and other media. I don't consider any stories like this proof of an after life. We are to live this life by faith; all of us. Why is he so special to no longer need to have faith? I don't know whether Braxton's account is true, and whether he is following his faith and Jesus' instructions in his ministry. What i found interesting was his description of angels taking instruction from Jesus (mind to mind), bowing and leaving his presence, and then his relatives and ancestors arrayed before him -- generations of them. I don't think there is a set time for anyone to die. It happens when it will happen 1

Atheist Mormon Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Does God ever cause the death of someone? How about Laban?

Trying to relate this to the OP, I guess you could say that Laban was killed so that Lehi could perform a greater work, but not in heaven. And I doubt Laban is performing a greater work in heaven.
