By character I actually meant nature. They and we gained mortal bodies that in turn would become resurrected and immortal through the sacrifice of Christ. An immortal resurrected body would be closer to the nature of God and Christ. They also experienced the same exposure to mortal life as Christ, an experience they could not have had without the fall. 1
