Duncan Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 So, 2 weeks ago the local Temple was officially approved and the groundbreaking was set for today. Clearly, no offense, having a groundbreaking in Canada in December was not a local decision.Elder Larry Y. Wilson of the 70 now knows the phrase, "man are cold but few are frozen", literally. So, anyways, there was this flurry of activity to get the groundbreaking ceremony done for today. We showed up at 11am, it started at 12. The actual groundbreaking was supposed to be broadcast from the actual site itself to local chapels, and just about 20 people would go there. There were all these tech guys and cameras and people taking pictures and all this hoppee doo. So, whatever we heard various talks from local leaders and community leaders and that was all fine. After that the 20 people left to the site. About 45 minutes later we are all still just sitting around and wondering so where's the video feed? the site from our chapel is about 15 minutes. The Patriarch gets up and says they had the actual groundbreaking but the live feed didn't work...................so we missed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we were there 3 hours for no actual groundbreaking, well that's just peaches and pickles, but the ground is broken at least!
strappinglad Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 well, let's hope they taped the whole thing so at least you can see it during a Stake conference or sometime. BTW , did they put ground heaters on the place before trying to shovel frozen earth?
