Robert Kirby makes some very good points in this article.

There should always be boundaries when disclosing information to just another human being.

Yes, well to someone like you and Kirby, who don't believe that bishops, stake presidents or other Priesthood leaders represent the Lord in any meaningful way, I suppose the points are good.

I here you but if the bishop was getting into the issue of proper wedding night behavior, I think that is out of bounds.  I think it is possible for some bishops to take things a little too far.

Amen to that.

When I was a branch president, a newly-married member of my branch started to ask me about the appropriateness of certain "wedding night behavior", but I didn't let him finish the question.  I told him that he needed to consult with his wife and the Lord, and leave me out of it.

I feel for Bishop's.  Yes some of them overstep their boundaries but by and large they are good people doing their best to fulfill a role they didn't want and don't feel qualified for.   Yes, they occasionally intrude where they shouldn't however there are also people often seeking the Bishop's opinion and advice on a myriad of topics (and at all hours of the day and night).   I can't think of a worse job to have.
