jana at jade house Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) The time has come for the good Professor to find a home from 1 June to 1 September in Seattle Washington. the leads we have from his colleague either have landlords who do not reply or are staggeringly more than a kings ransom or are places so big we would not know how to be cozy. He just needs a simple clean furnished place to eat and sleep for 3 months. ( I am not there the entire three months, I will be visiting my way across the mountain west), rent under 2300 p/m if possible. we already are looking at airbnb. anyone have leads? edited to add: University of Washington campus area, walking distance or excellent public transportation. Just a quick search came up with one as low as $900 a month (for 2 rooms, I believe), but several around the $1,000-$1,200 range. Calm Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Sometimes student housing is open for tourists during summer sessions at some universities (or they were in Canada). You might check there. Might not be able to do it for the full time if school gets back in a week or two before.

deli_llama Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 The rail connection to Husky Stadium/UW will be opening this spring. From there downtown is easily accessible. Actually, once it opens you could live in most surrounding areas and just a quick ride or two would put you on campus. Seattle has a good public transport system, no need to worry too much about that. Just north of the stadium and campus, a 10-15 minute walk on the bike trail, is nice little outdoor shopping center called University Village. UW house reaches up into that area as well. The surrounding neighborhood is filled with students, and there several small apartment buildings in the area. What you are looking at rent wise should be possible. I have seen for rent signs asking for less. All of the wards in the area are excellent wards. Anyways, thats one area that meets your requirements. Maybe that will help. Send me a PM if you want.
