Would you want to know if your church is false?

Such relativism works when considering "best for you".  But it doesn't change the reality of what is actually best.

Same for truth.  It may be that being a Buddhist is the absolute best think for you in your life.  Doesn't make reincarnation any more real or Christ any less the Son of God.

So, would it be fair then to put you down for #3 in Kirby's article?

"Finally - and most stupidly - are the people who wouldn't push the button because they already "know" their religion is true."

These are your LDS brother's words - not mine. ;)

No, I would push the button because God's truth is more important than any organization.

In fact, I did push the button when I asked God to know and he condescended to answer me.  Doubting is not optional after that.

And relativism is still one of the greatest lies of the adversary.

Don't let the New Mormons hear you say that.

It's the truth.  It's led more people away from the restored gospel, and even Christianity in general, than any of the anti/critic tools and arguments out there.
And it's absolutely getting worse.  It's Elder Holland's "marigolds".  It's the all you need is love nonsense.  And it is everywhere.

I'm afraid it's a very strong Devil behind this one jlh.  I've got to tell you Mark has got me thinking.  Somehow, there is something in having been presented with a different view of what is truth, what is reality, what is this complex relationship between objectivity and subjectivity, what is all crap about language == truth?

First off it has softened my heart, heck I could reach out and Hug Scott right now.  I have no truth stronger or better than his.

Second I can see this can open up my mind from the anchor of my "orthodox, old school" objective Truth freeing me to explore and expand my own subjective truth.

Third, it's very very fuzzy out there, but where I have given up partly because of my failure to obtain objective administration of angels and an objective Calling and Election, I now see new hope in a subjective one.

I think Mark is right in that, just like lbgt culture has evolved to be a norm is society so is this New Mormonism going to evolve in Mormon Culture.  Blame the likes of Mark ... they spoke it.

When you can please do us all a favor and explain what the heck Mark is talking about,  would ya?

I mean, better than he does.

With easier to understand language.

Better words. Better analogies, or somethin.

I think it may be a very basic idea that just hasn't been explained very well in easy to understand language, yet, for people like me.

It was a 17 page debate and the spirit that gave me a very brief introduction to the language and concepts being presented.  I did not sleep at all that night.  I'm pitiful with my scattered mind and horrible English language skills.  I would not hold out any hope for me being able to explain it.

Oh no!  I'm doomed!

Unless a miracle happens,  maybe.
