Why and how could anyone not accept temple work?

I wish that you were correct. However, we human beings are not very good children. Although God is perfect, Satan was able to draw away one third of the hosts of Heaven while we were all in God's presence. Now that we have bee placed here upon the earth, without that Divine Presence, there are too many of us who fit the following scripture, "Doctrine and Covenants 132:22 For strait is the gate, and narrow the way that leadeth unto the exaltation and continuation of the lives, and few there be that find it, because ye receive me not in the world neither do ye know me."

We're not good at all. But we have hope in Christ that if we repent(turn towards God) we will be forgiven our many sins. The many many billions of people that have never even heard of Jesus the Christ, in this life, will be given the opportunity in the next.

If it would make said priest -- or someone else -- feel better, I would be quite OK with it. I would regard it as a magnanimous gesture, in fact.

I would consider it to be tantamount to a prayer in my behalf. And I'll take all the prayers I can get.

I wonder why you suppose a typical Mormon would object to it.

Just trying to point out to video that if one does no believe it, it might be a nice thing but its not that important, you can get along just fine without it.

In other words if there is no faith/believe in it, there is no power it in either.  Sure it might make the priest feel better but you don't believe your salvation is dependent on it so its like saying "bless you" to someone that sneezes.

I believe God is a successful parent. The vast majority of us will be in the Celestial Kingdom if not the highest degree therein.

Yes but I specifically not factor in those who die before accountability hits.

Add in all those who died without ever understanding the Gospel in mortality. We can't be saved in ignorance anymore than we can be damned. Paradise/Spirit Prison will be a great school and sifting. I honestly believe that for all those that want all the blessings a way is provided.

I believe the Book of Mormon is correct and everyone will get according to their desires so everyone will get what they want.

I don't buy the complete depravity of humanity concept.  We certainly screw up and that big time but most are people who love and care for each other and even if that expression is poorly executed, it is still something of value and goodness.

I agree. The potential for depravity is not the same as complete depravity.

Jesus the Christ said no one was good but God the Father. I don't take that as the Calvinist T.U.L.I.P  do, but take it as a call to repentance.

What had Jesus to repent of?

The Fall. Which he did via the atonement.

Do you agree, Sometimesaint?
