Duncan Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 In John 11 the text refers to Mary as the lady who anointed Jesus with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, it seems as though that this was in the past. Now, it seems in Ch 12. it happened again after Lazarus was risen from the dead. Did it happen twice or what?

Same incident. It also identifies her as his wife if you are familiar with higher temple ordinances. Now whether this was the same woman in Luke 7 and Mark 14 is another question. I tend to believe that Jesus was married and if so, it was to Mary. What do you think of Joseph and Brigham teaching that Jesus was married to both Mary and Martha? (Sorry for the thread derail but just wondering...I could start a new thread on this too)
stemelbow Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Duncan, I've enjoyed David Bokovoy's blog of late. in it he's posted quite a few articles about how the bible was composed. Recently he posted a 3 parter about the New testament. He doesn't, I dont't think, address this particular issue, you raise, but his posts speak about how the NT was composed which in a round about way, may answer your question/concern. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/davidbokovoy/ Anyway, let me know what you think. 1

I'd ask more about that, but I don't want to derail Duncan's thread anymore than I just did!
