mfbukowski Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Others disagree, but they have their own absolutes.OK. Not what I thought the discussion was.
JLHPROF Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 AND you believe in absolutes? That's not consistent! Is that important, or an absolute? OK so absolutes are relative.OK then never mind. I fee like this conversation is drifting a bit.For the purpose of this thread I define a personal absolute as an element of the gospel that you are so certain is true (whether by spirit or study) that any future revelation/teaching denying it you would consider false. I gave one example - Christ as Savior. I am so certain of this truth that any future revelation to the contrary I would dismiss because Christ as Savior is an unchangeable element. Is that clear enough? I am not talking scientific absolutes. I am talking about things you are positive can never change in the gospel. Where you get that belief is not the subject. What you believe as unchangeably true is.
sethpayne Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 So I ask again? What are your absolutes? God exists and I'm not Him. 3
mfbukowski Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 God exists and I'm not Him.I gotta admit, that says about all of it right there. That's the direct experience itself and no frills or constructs. I like it bigtime.
