Avatar4321 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Why should we reject continuing revelation and adopt a bible only theology when the people in the Bible didn't? Why should we reject continuing revelation when we have received it ourselves? Why should we deny the Book or Mormon, D&C and PofGP when the Spirit has told us that it is true?why should we reject Joseph Smith as a Prophet of God when the Spirit testifies that He is? Why should his flaws begat his message when only one man ever walked this world without sin and even He was put to death for alleged crimes?why should we deny the power of God when we see it occur among us? Why should we deny His priesthood and only retain a form of godliness rather than embrace the power God has for us too? Why should we criticize those who hold the keys when they are right again and again?why should we reject the resurrection of Christ because we haven't seen it when the spirit has testified it is true? Why should we reject the atonement when we have used it?people keep coming here demanding we defend this and that yet don't bother trying to understand it. We don't have to justify our beliefs to continue believing them. We have received witness after witness. So why should we turn away and reject the Spirit we have received? 3

I find it funny that there is no evidence of any Christians living in the first few centuries that accepted a Bible canon that matched the ones that Christians use today. They accepted books that are not found in the modern canon and rejected books found in the modern canon. But these people who lived during the 2nd and 3rd century are still considered Christians despite that fact. Yet Mormons are bashed for accepting more than the Bible. We simply are doing what was common among the early Christians and they are not condemned for doing we do.
Robert F. Smith Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Well, if that is the case, what are we doing here on this board? Isn't this just a huge waste of our time and energy? Don't we already know all the answers? Is there anything new under the sun?

Why should we assume sins on his head because we don't understand the things he had revealed? Why should we treat Joseph as any other man when the evidence is he was so much more? Why should we allow ourselves to believe every rumour or theory about the man who communed face to face with his Lord and Savior? Praise to the man.
