rpn Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 This isn't Rome, and if the results of the meeting at the Vatican last month is any indication, there are plenty of catholic bishops who abhor the thought of even considering loosening the limitations of divorced catholics to have communion, which is a whole lot less "progressive" than accepting LGBT relationships as good as marriages.
Calm Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 This seems to me just likely to result at this time in increasing contention within the RCC as it seems so unlikely that it will change its doctrinal stance on homosexuality, but perhaps I am just projecting.

Buzzard Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Having spent some time in Belgium, my impression in both the 70's and last year was that Belgians view the Catholic church more as a cultural thing rather than as a religion.
