Gervin Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 http://www.wtop.com/209/3764178/Nordstrom-fires-worker-over-police-killings-post Board rules on what not to post: Anything that resembles what you would find in The National Enquirer or other tabloids (i.e. LDS members accused of bad behavior. These discussions are not productive and only lead to judgment and speculation involving people we don't know.)
Calm Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Maybe someday those who appear to think they can say whatever they want as if they were talking to their closest, most trusted friends instead of essentially the world on the Internet will wise up. 2
thesometimesaint Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. 2
Kenngo1969 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 "I'm a black Mormon, so there's no way I could be racist," he said. "I'm just passionate about black issues because nobody else seems to be." Ooooh-KAY! Given the flood of complaints, Hodges said he understands why Nordstrom fired him, but he doesn't understand why someone took a screen shot of his Facebook comment and destroyed his livelihood. If he’s looking for the person who “destroyed his livelihood,” he needs to look in the mirror. "I would never think to do something like that," he said. "If you and I have a problem, I handle it with you. I don't go behind your back." Suggesting blacks should kill white cops? That’s okey-DOKEY, but someone else pointing out where you suggested such a thing on a public forum, well, that’s just . . . beyond the pale. Okey-dokey! (Don't worry; it's not as though I'm suggesting your priorities are out of whack, or anything, Mr. Hodges.)
Mola Ram Suda Ram Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) I am a balck Mormon so there is no way I could be racist? OK that really holds no water. What he says is what some one can use to judge wether he is a racist or not. I am not racist I have black friends. I think all black people should be round up because they are all back wood hicks. But I am not racist, heck, I am even Mormon. Just in case people think I am serious I was using sarcasim here. It just holds no water. The guys is a tool for saying what he did and now he gets to live with it. On another note this is all I will say on the subject. Edited December 17, 2014 by Mola Ram Suda Ram
Calm Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) The no one else is passionate about it...that must be why we are hearing nothing about people's reactions in Ferguson, New York, Harvard, etc. As soon as the verdicts were known, everyone went back to sitting on the couch, taking their finals, Christmas shopping, inviting the neighbours over for pizza. thesometimesaint Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Most elections it is hard to get more than about 1/3 of eligible voters to vote. The best way to peacefully and legally to make changes in the system is to vote.
