In Mark 6:3 they said, " Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary..." Note that they didn't say the son of Joseph. That speaks volumes. Yes, until he got a revelation. God approved of Mary having a child other than her husbands. Pretty clear.And as far as I'm concerned, God also approved of Joseph Smith's marriages too. WIth David and Bathsheba, God did NOT give Bathsheba to David - he arranged Uriah's innocent death to get her. That is why he was a sinner, but in the case of Joseph/Mary and Joseph Smith/his wives, there was no sin.

Because despite what people on this board claim, when it comes to a man and a woman, sealing is marriage, marriage is sealing. There is NOT a difference.You can be married and sealed for time, or you can be married and sealed for time and eternity. Marriage is not the civil union separate from the temple sealing. That would imply that God doesn't ordain marriage, just sealings. Marriage from God and Sealing from God are the same thing. Civil marriage is an irrelevant mortal notion.

But now we're hearing from lds.org that in some cases JS was also sealed for eternity only, and not time. "Eternity-only sealings indicated relationships in the next life alone."

I don't understand what you are saying. Clearly marriage and sealing are two different things. God recognizes them both separately. One cannot be baptized with a live-in, they need to be married (not sealed). When children are sealed to their parents, they are not married to them. While sealings can be performed as marriages, they are not always, just as marriages are not always sealings. I think what people are asking is, what's the point? If God already recognizes civil marriage as legitimate life-only relationships, why the sealing for life only?

You say myth, I say religion...I don't believe Christ was a virgin birth, but Joseph was pretty sure he wasn't the father.I believe Mary married God and had his child despite being married to Joseph.

I don't believe in any difference between sealing and marriage.
