Talent With Faith

Following your passion and talent is wonderful, however, it is very important to base any success on faith. Strong believes in Jesus Christ  can help us to succeed in whatever we put our mind to.

Well, this is true to a point at least to me.  Somewhere along the lines I believe it is okay to give yourself some points for working hard on talents and feeding the passion that derives from that.  Not all of that is about faith in Jesus Christ, but about faith in yourself which is what he also taught.

This is probably true for believers of any persuasion.  here are those who are successful in their field who do not subscribe to any faith persuasion.  The key is D&C 130:20-21  20 There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated—

21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.

I agree, Jeanne... I always acknowledge the Lord's hand in my life successes, and the strength he gives me when I fall short... but I know that my own personal effort is important and needed in any success... reminds me of the parable of the Talents... The Lord was pleased with those who acted to increase their talents, and chastised the one who hid the talent and just let it sit there...

And I, too, know many a successful person who is not spiritual in any way, in fact many that agnostic or even atheist who are very successful.  But for me, I know I've been blessed because I've included my faith in all that I do...

Since I have taken upon myself the name of Christ the distinction is not that clear cut.
