Thanks, Bluebell.

I think Maxrep12 is using the same sig line over on his milieu, the Mormon Defamation Board.

I'm not much bothered by it. If I was taken by surprise, so what? I was in good company.

I think many of us failed to realize how heavy handed and oppressive the federal judiciary could or would be in disrupting prevailing community standards.

Needless to say, my eyes have been opened a great deal since them. I think it bodes ill for future issues pertaining to religious liberty and freedom of conscience. It behooves us to be vigilant now.

Yeah, like i said it didn't seem like a big deal-just wanted you to be aware that it was there (and for maxrep12 to know the rules) so it wouldn't become an issue later.  I know sometimes the mods take that violation pretty seriously.

I think there will always be members who speak up when they perceive injustices, especially injustices that seem rooted in the philosophies of men rather than revelation from God. Additionally, seeking after truth is practically part of our DNA as latter-day saints.

I tend to agree with this. In addition more and more American LDS are living and have lived most or all of their lives outside of the former Deseret territory. Americans do not, by their cultural instincts, tend to refrain from being critical of social attitudes they don't agree with, nor do they like being told they have to accept the cultural traditions of their grandparents. If the Church wishes to retrench into a provincial Rocky Mountain white male organization, it has every right to do so. We as good Mormons are obligated to accept such decisions. However, I don't think everybody views it an obligation of our religion to refrain from pointing out view which may differ with GAs, and in this internet age, certain perceived missteps are going to draw fire. That just goes with the territory.

Just out of curiosity of all the members with doubts who post on this forum or some other forum how many have had black helicopters with the church logo on the side set down in their yard.  Or have had their Bishop ex them.

Black helicopters but no exxing yet.

The conspiracy theory is a little overblown.  Perhaps?

I've heard that the black helicopters are used for transporting Commandos from the SCMC Strike Team : They're jack-booted and black-clad from head-to-toe, and they carry fully automatic weapons, ammunition, and other tools of ... persuasion.  Operations are conducted by performing aerial insertions into the houses of members who need ... Uhhh, I think "correction" is the word they use ... by zip-lining from the helicopter into a window.

But I wouldn't want to spread any rumors, or anything.

;):D

Can you tell us a little more about your encounter with the SCMC Strike Team Commandos?  Did they attempt to disorient you with a flash-bang grenade, use TASERs, tear gas, pepper-spray, K-9s?

Indeed.

Sounds like a fun time was had by all!  :D

Kate Kelly's serial abuser analogy was over the top. If the OW wants the continued sympathy of moderate Mormon progressives, it needs to step away from the radical victim hood speak. Women do not have to resort to the imagery of the weaker sex, when advocating for access to the keys of authority -- it's that type of cultural stereotype of equality with special protections which holds them back in the first place.
