Being Banned From A Thread.

I recently was banned from the NYtimes thread. See my post on page 49. However, the mod misunderstood my post which got me banned. I wasn't attacking pahoran but making a comment about how it would be easier to be a critic than a defender because to be critical of something is quite easy to do. In fact, if I were a critic of this or that issue I could do a great job in pushing people's buttons. But being a defender is not so easy. And this was the point that I was making to pahoran when the mod banned me from the thread.

Question: I can't seem to contact a moderator about this and I was wondering if there is any recourse for someone who feels they were banned unjustly because of a misunderstanding.

If you don't know why you were banned, you will continue to butt heads with mods.  The only reason I am responding to this inappropriate thread is because your behavior was so inappropriate. We received reports on your posts in two different threads that day. Both posts contained nothing but but withering attacks on another poster. You were removed the second time from the second thread. The only solution we have for those who open threads to contest moderator decisions is to put them on Limited.

Would this be compared to the people who felt they were banned justly and were properly understood?  ;)

I have been banned from starting a new post and am on restriction for how many post I can respond to.  Like you, I tried to contact the Moderators numerous times to even find out what caused the restrictions.  I never got an explanation.

I am ok with it all, or I would leave the site.  I just would have liked an explaination and their reason for the restriction if for no other reason than to correct future posts that I might make. So moderaters, if you do read this, I would still love some kind of answer from you.

Limited is used to control what or how many threads a person can open. I can only guess but it may have something to do with starting too many threads on a hot button topic  We like to keep a balance of topics.  Your attitude is appreciated and your posting privileges will be restored.
