I have not thoroughly contemplated what this actually means. Are the promises and blessings of all the ordinances performed in the church become revoked upon excommunication? As far as I know, a temple sealing in not automatically canceled up excommunication. Or is it?

Perhaps a better way to look at it is that those blessings and ordinances are no longer in force. They may be restored on condition of repentance.

Only God/Priesthood blesses and curses, binds and looses.This is why our sins cancel those blessings. If the excommunication is for sin or covenant breaking, then those blessings have already been lost. All the excommunication does is validate/record it. But if one is excommunicated incorrectly those blessings would still be intact in my opinion. God doesn't punish us for man's mistakes.
