I Don't Think It's Possible To Have A Differing Opinion Here.

I read the TOS. Got one warning for language, then another. Now I'm banned from reading a bunch of topics. I came to this site because it is interesting and diverse, but apparently having a differing opinion against the LDS church is against the TOS, even though it doesn't say so. MODS I'm talking to YOU.

I haven't read your posts but I'm a former believer who now is basically atheist. I haven't hid that fact in my posts and enjoy discussing topics here. Mods have never acted on me in any way.

Of course you can discuss differing views, just don't be rude or impolite. But this is not a site to air every problem you have with the Church...it is possible to disagree without being disagreeable. Also the mods have a thankless job, and rules prohibit targeting them for enforcing rules. It is clear from many of your posts that you have problems with the Church, this site is not the Church...so don't take it out here.

Terms of service are pretty clear -

No:

  • Mocking each others' beliefs
  • Judging others

and of course:

This is not a free speech board. It's a respectful speech board. We want participation from LDS and non-LDS people. Mocking LDS beliefs will drive away LDS members. This means:

  • Do not use offensive terms for things we hold sacred.
  • Do not post temple content or links to temple content.
  • Do not use nicknames for LDS leaders. Example: Calling Joseph Smith "Joe" is not acceptable.
  • Do not post anything else you know is meant to do nothing more than push others' buttons.

It's not that hard, but you're violating the TOS with this thread too:  Do not start threads to criticize moderators, complain
about thread closures, or backtalk when we intervene.

Just follow the rules and you can take any position you want.
