But that has more to do with I Corinthians 1:27 than with the message from Moroni 10:3-7. I would invite you to not allow your judgement of them as sisters in Christ to detract you from applying it.

Wasnt judging them. In my opinion they were not really trained.

Wn I told the. I had been a Christian for ocer 20 years they explained Adam and Eve and Noah. When they asked for an answer and I gave a correct respinse ex. Noah built an ark.

One was shocked and saidc"How do you know this you are not a Mormon"

Would you agree that just maybe the LDS church should have recommended more experienced missionaries in cases like this?

I highly doubt that bluebell is happy about having to limit her posting in order to avoid interacting with you, even if she is kind and generous enough to do so.

And her feelings and everyone else's are as real as yours. Any reason why we should allow your feelings to dictate our actions to the point of not discussing things we believe need to be discussed, like defending the character of a good person?

The board has a report function, you should use it if you believe there is incivility or bullying here. It is meant for that purpose.

She is not really limiting it. So she has to refrain from interqcting with 1 member. That is not a lot considering the number of members this board has. She was the one to recommend it and I accepted.

Would you rather have peace or bickering among members. Its better for everyone.

Thank you for advising of the report button was not aware of it.

As for someone being a good person. What is your measuring stick is she as good as Mother Teresa is sje moee good than Hitler.

Nobody is good we are just sinners who have repented. No one is good as all have falln short of the glory of God.

She may be nice. Is that what you meant by good.

I was not aware I had to bring in references to testify my character.

Are you sure that you aren't omitting any of the dialogue?

No im not. And the same reqction occurred during Adam and Eve. And Jesus.

we Mormons aren't accountable for what our coreligionists do/preach, see article of faith 2 "We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression". :)

Yes this doctrine does seem a little nationalistic, but hey, cant we argue that all Christians  are a little to arrogant about Christ returning to Jerusalem? He already went there once! And why is it that only they get a Temple? :)

I believed in Original Sin mainly due to being briught up believing that. Only recently have I had doubts. The main thing holding me to that teaching is we are still under the curse

14  The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.

15  I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”

16  To the woman he said, “I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. In pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

17  To Adam he said, “Because you have listened to your wife’s voice, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground for your sake. In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.

18  Thorns also and thistles will it bring forth to you; and you will eat the herb of the field.

19  By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall

Would you rather discuss whether AoF 10 has Biblical backing, or complain (James 5:9) about whether one or two out of 75,000 LDS missionaries are not trained? I already gave an answer, anyway (I Corinthians 1:27) since it seems in your judgment they or the Church is weak or foolish in relation to their training and skills.

Where does it corroborate in the Bible that the new Zion and control seat of power will be in the Americas?

Is this just wishful thinking and hoping or typical American arrogance?

One of the interesting issues connected to this question is that many non-LDS Christians are perplexed as to why the Bible seems to say or prophesy next to nothing about the United States of America, even though it's been playing such an overwhelmingly important roll on the world stage in the last days. As a consequence, it's not unusual for rank and file members of these churches to ask their leaders and leaned men why the establishment of the United States is either left out of or only included in very obscure and contestable references in the Bible -- the book of scripture the Latter-day Saints also call "the stick of Judah".

From an LDS point of view, the establishment and great importance of the United States in the last days is prophesied and spoken of often in the scriptures, just not the in the Books of the Bible. The LDS scriptures known as the  Book of Mormon (the stick of Joseph) and the book of Doctrine and Covenants contain much about the role of the United States in the last days.

The establishment of the City of Zion on the landmass of the United States is frequently spoken of in these two books. LDS acceptance of this teaching has everything to do with scripture and revelation from God, and doesn't emerge out of the wishful thinking and arrogance of egoistic Americans. America was not yet a world superpower when these things were revealed the Prophet Joseph Smith.

One reason that many Americans ask why are we not in the Bible considering how important we are is by the time the Anti-Christ returns the USA woll just be one of many nations.

One only has to look at the state of the country to see it is in the decline like many empires of the past.

But there is a reference to a Lion with Eagle Ings mentioned in the OT. That many say reprsent the Uk and USA.

I am a little confused when I mentioned Zion being built in the U.S. I was told that it is inxorrect that the Americas refer to North and South and the new temple will be built in the southern part.

Could you clear this up for me.

According to the Doctrine and Covenants, Zion will be in established and built in what is now known as the state of Missouri.

With kindness, might I suggest you obtain (or find online) and carefully read two LDS books -- "The Articles of Faith" by Le Grand Richards and "A Marvelous Work and a Wonder" by James E Talmage. After you do this, you will know a lot more about the basics of the LDS religion and will be better able to discuss and dialogue on this board without Church members here having to explain, in "apologetics mode," the  basic LDS tenants to you.

Comparisons to that 20th Century dictator in a certain European country are not a good idea.

We assume good intent here until proven otherwise.
