Robert F. Smith Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 We don't usually hear about callings outside of the Church in our Church meetings. We don't mention a lot of the callings people have outside of the Church. Or don't you know that members of the Godhead aren't members of the Church? They preside over the Church, as well as over every organization in their kingdom outside of the Church, but they aren't and never have been members of any Church on this Earth.Yes, and the earthly Church is a temporary organization which will wither away at the Millennial end, when the Last Judgment is finished. The Kingdom of Heaven and the priesthood are permanent. Familes are forever. 1
Robert F. Smith Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 BY took it in a totally different direction. He didn't equate M with the HG. He equated, for a time, M with Heavenly Father, with J being Grandfather, and E being Great Grandfather. But that's another discussion *grin*See my post #75 in this thread.
Robert F. Smith Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Once a bishop always a bishop.Until Kingdom come . . . , which is not always.
bluebell Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 It would have still sounded weird or unusual if it was him and he had referred to himself in the first person:... thou shalt also behold [me as] a man descending out of heaven, and I shall ye witness; and after ye have witnessed me ye shall bear record that it is I, the Son of God.I think he was just telling him what he wanted him to say about him, whether or not it sounded weird or unusual. If His exchange with the brother of Jared is any indication, He likely would have explained things a bit differently, if He was talking about Himself. 1
