During the tour the guide told a story.In the year (2000) that the center was to be completed, there was an unusual amount of rain and the contractor told President Hinckley that they wouldn't be able to complete the center in time for conference. President Hinckley said to the contractor, "You take care of the building and I'll take care of the rain."Has anybody ever heard this story before?

But it's fantastic.Though I'm surprised the tour guide was telling the story and I'm pretty sure the powers that be probably don't want that story being told, even if it was true.
Duncan Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) yes, a version of it. I heard it from a former CES guy here who was a bodyguard of some kind to Pres. Hinckley. He also was FBI. Great guy but who knows what he said what even legit so I took everything he said with a 100lbs bag of salt. His version was that Pres. One told me a real whopper about a "petroglyph" that spelled out Moroni's name, using an engraving an "eye" to represent the "i" ... "Mor" (spelled out in English), placed "on" top of the "eye."How did this even come up on a tour? Just a nanosecond of eye contact...
