I would if both dogmatically insisted it was that colour all of the time. The sky varies in colour.....

Actually the base color is always blue. Light hitting oxygen makes it blue. Dust and other pollutants can add other hues..

I may find it absurd, but I don't think it's absurd of them to disagree with me. In other words, they aren't crazy simply because they don't hold to what I think is 'reality'.

Never said they were crazy. Flights of fancy aren't crazy. After all Walt Disney made a fortune off of a 3 foot tall, talking mouse.

This quote says a lot about the issue IMNSHO. The conclusion? We should perhaps learn the lesson of Darwinism: a ‘universal’ mechanism of adaptation says little in itself about how a particular feature got to be the way it is, or about how it works. This truth has dawned on physicists too: universal equations are all very well, but the world actually consists of particular solutions, and these are generally the result of contingent history. One size does not always fit all.Nature Editorial, 14 April 2011

True. However we didn't abandon Newton when Einstein came along. Nor did we abandon Einstein when Quantum Mechanics can along. The overriding principle of Evolution is that those that reproduce win.

We did, however, abandon parts of their claims, which is far more significant, unless you are arguing for a personality cult.

True, but far less so than the Creationists like to claim. Newton was accurate enough that we send satellites touring then out our solar system with split second accuracy; Einstein has proven even more correct on the even bigger scale; and QM to explorer the inner workings of the subatomic universe.

I never have argued for a personality cult. Well maybe one... the Jesus the Christ cult. ;)

I am now torn. Part of me wants to go laugh but I cannot in good conscience financially support such an endeavor.

The dogmatism coming from that side is no more appealing than the dogmatism coming from the evolution camp.

False equivalency. One is a theory based on observable phenomena projected backwards and attempts to take into account the evidence we have. The other is like believing Middle Earth is real because Tolkien said so....ignoring the fact that Tolkien (God for those who lost the metaphor) said no such thing.

I find the willingness of evolutionary theorists to assume that future evidence will support them annoying and call them bad or flawed scientists. I find most Creationists as honest as Carnies.

Everyone is entitled to believe anything they want. Whether that belief conforms to reality is another question.

I reserve the right to ridicule some beliefs as well.

Evolution is a scientific theory supported by a significant amount of facts. Creationism is based on a gross misunderstanding of the bible. Some people who believe in evolution are dogmatic, but I don't think it is accurate to pit evolution against creationism any more than we can pit gravity against the rapture. One is science, the other is entirely based on dogma with no support in science and little support in scripture.
