Wow. I don't know much about the C of C, it does sound like they are becoming indistinguishable from mainstream Protestantism which seems to be a contagion that we ourselves get smitten with from time to time in our PR department. But to make all those assertions about a committed gay or lesbian couple who have been together for 30 or 40 years, not sure that really flies -- do you?

I think you are missing the point of my edit. Condoning sin because someone is "in love" is not healthy and not reflective of concern for their eternal welfare. It is painful to hear the truth and difficult to preach the truth when society calls you bigoted for proclaiming it. It is self centered to bend the will of God to the will of man. See the point?

It's not germane, but TSS brought up how terrible corporations are, and how they are treated as people. So, I was responding.

So, what does the ability to control elections have anything to do with corporations? Corporations don't have political rights, may not vote, may not contribute to candidates. So what are you even talking about?

Hum, you are aware of The Citizens United case right? It was the increased ability of corporations to donate to support candidates which sparked Mitt Romney's somewhat infamous remark about corporations being persons. But I believe this somewhat off topic except possibly that gay activists have figured out that corporations can be used to magnify or concentrate policy as well as conservatives and have been getting corporate anti discrimination policies adopted which then can be used to bludgeon other groups like the BSA. It's kind of like one side learning tricks from the other and then using them against the people who first thought up the trick.

You don't think it might be wise to caution a person when they are so in love with someone not their spouse or are passionate with something outside their marriage that takes all their time , they are willing to destroy their marriage for that love?

I believe I exempted affairs, what I was challenging was whether the harsh remarks were really justified in the case of long term gay or lesbian committed relationships. We have members in the Church who are best described as serial monogamists. Yet they are accepted, can we definitively say they are better examples of love than two people in a longstanding happy SSM? I don't know since I have only heard examples of such relationships and do not know of any personally. The gays I know can't understand why anyone would want to get married, and I know several heterosexual bachelors or divorced men who feel the same way.

Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. 310 (2010), is a US constitutional law case, in which the United States Supreme Court held that the First Amendment prohibits the government from restricting political independent expenditures by corporations, associations, or labor unions.

So, in other words, the Supreme Court held that organizations consisting of people had the same right to express themselves as the people themselves had in their own persons. You think there's something subversive about this, or morally reprehensible? I don't.

What an organization (such as an association or corporation) may NOT do, is donate directly to candidates campaigns. Which is what I said.
