The moving and the shaking to get things done is for the young. We can persuade and direct aright, while resting of course....I always think better from a seated position anyway, now where did I put those glasses...

Old age isn't ill health, it's the natural order for mortals.We're not meant to stay here. But while we are here we ought to be making the planet as paradisiacal as possible, that starts with ourselves. Making excuses is what failures do. Since we all fail at something, and succeed at other things, we can make the planet better by our successes, which will outweigh our failures. Existence seems built to promote success, otherwise this place would be mostly chaos instead of tending to order, in spite of our best efforts....I have diabetic passed down from my bio-father, I am not overweight; 6'2" 180lbs. I have sarcoidosis which is in the lupus family. All while being true to WoW. Many of our greatest leaders died of cancer. You seem to want to over-simplify the issue. Paul had what the called a "thorn in the flesh" that God would not heal to keep him humble.

Questing Beast Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Yes, humility is the fate awaiting us all. Some are more in need of a humbling than others, but none of us are spared a waiting humiliation. I don't think that pride is possible to avoid as a mortal. Unless you are in the presence of God you are in a state of ignorance, and ignorance will cause fallacious comparisons of self to the surrounding world, and such comparisons will at the least cause subconscious gratification that "I am not as the heathen are", etc. Only a conscious heartfelt repetition of something akin to "there but for the grace of God go I" will stave off the allure of feeling superior to the rest of humanity....
