Calm Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Why would anyone need 15,000 to live on?Depending on where he lives, housing, car, and other expenses could be that much, but of course there is a difference between "need" in the terms of keeping up an established way of life and actual need for survival or even comfort (but perhaps not much luxury).

Definitely one of the more expensive areas to live. So there is probably an cost of living element in that $15k/month number but I'm sure that there is also a personal lifestyle element as well.
The Nehor Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 How in the world do you acquire about a million dollars of unpaid taxes over a period of years and not notice?
rockpond Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 How in the world do you acquire about a million dollars of unpaid taxes over a period of years and not notice?I think it has to be either really poor accounting skills/knowledge or intentional embezzlement. But innocent until proven guilty... so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and figure that he was clueless about tax obligations or had a really bad accountant.

I just hope he has never been a Clerk in the church.

sjdawg Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 When I read the article it sounded to me like he failed to remit payroll deductions on behalf of employees

Calm Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 It was nearly $900,000. There were company payroll taxes that he was personally responsible for from 2004, 2005 and 2007. There were also individual income taxes going back as far as 1992. Mr. Thompson was arguing about how much he was able to pay.
