Except that the Cougs got it done against Long Beach State Univ (seeded #3), taking all 3 sets... the Cougars are now the MPSF Champions (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation)... a title they have not held since 2004... they can now hang another banner from the rafters...And, they go into the NCAA as winners...It was another match where each set went back and forth until each time the Cougars prevailed to win the set.Whew!GG Edited April 28, 2013 by Garden Girl

Garden Girl Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 (edited) BYU WINS!!!Sweeps #4 seed Penn State 3-0... Scores = Set 1 25-18; Set 2 25-16; Set 3 25-22(?) I had to watch on my computer but it was better than nothing. At one point at the start of Set 3, Penn State led 7 - 1 and the Cougars had to fight their way back... finally tying it up at 21 - 21, and then moving ahead to win the set, and the match.They play again Saturday in the finals for NCAA Championship.... BYU did not win the NCAA Championship...Even though they beat UC Irvine twice this year... tonight they were outplayed by Irvine, who took the 3 sets... 25-23... 25-22... and 26-24....The teams were so evenly matched that it was a point by point back and forth with Irvine playing slightly better, thus the win in each set, and so the match... which is back to back NCAA titles, the first time in 17 years a team has won back to back championships.BYU played good, Irvine played a little better... GG 1
