Duncan Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I could be wrong about this but it seems to me the Church announces that they are building a Temple in a location but then they work to get the site for it. My question is why don't they get the site first then announce it?

I think it works both ways: sometimes the Church secures a site, then announces, and sometimes it announces, then secures a site. I suppose it depends on the level of cooperation the Church feels it can secure from local officials. 1

My question is why don't they get the site first then announce it?I agree with Ken, I know unseen it announced when the site has already been chosen. Besides a PR and economic issue...some landowners might raise prices, I think there is at times a timing issue, they have enough time once the decision has been made prior to the official announcement to find the land.
