inquiringmind Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) Well, you can then correct him next time you converse with him.I'm more interested in what he says about how he experiences sorrow, grief, and regret since being born again. He says he always experiences them as a physical sensations in his chest.I asked him if that means there's something wrong with me, and he said "no, I was born again a long time ago, and I don't remember what it felt like before that."So does anyone else always experience sorrow, grief, and regret as physical sensations centered in the chest? Is this wedding of the physical and the emotional part of being born again (and something I just can't understand because I haven't been born again yet)? Maidservant Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I have lived with a broken heart most of my life, day in and day out, and the physical sensation is constant. It isn't necessarily attached to the physical heart, but to the area of the body/chest. The pressure and pain I feel is phenomenal, but it is an energetic pain, not really something in the skin or muscles or bones, although it spills over on to that. I can often be heard to say, "My heart hurts!" Sometimes when I try to self-reflect and investigate what I'm holding there, to attempt some release, the pain actually increases and I have felt ripping sensations.Take that as you will.
Bill “Papa” Lee Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Have you ever experienced it?You have never had a broken heart? If so you have not loved...that cannot be true.
thesometimesaint Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Well that right there should tell you to stop listening to this individual. The brian is one big bundle of nerve cells. This person obviously has no clue what he is talking about. The brain can not feel pain. It has no receptors to feel with. It is essentially a very complex circuit board.
Saints Alive Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 The brain can not feel pain. It has no receptors to feel with. It is essentially a very complex circuit board.Didn't say it could but to say the brain has no nervous tissue is patently false. The brain is nothing but nervous tissue.

Calm Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 You have never had a broken heart? If so you have not loved...that cannot be true. Or been lucky in love as I have.
Bill “Papa” Lee Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Or been lucky in love as I have. But the love of a parent...heartbreak assured.
Sunshine64 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 It is possible to die from a broken heart. It is a real, physical reaction to stress. I've linked a Mayo Clinic article about it. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/broken-heart-syndrome/DS01135Anyone who has experienced loss and extreme stress knows what this feels like. I've felt it and will probably feel it again. In the meantime, I am grateful to have family and friends to love so much that their absence would literally hurt.
