These homes were also built on concrete pylons that were driven very deep into the soil. A cat 1 storm is not powerful.A cat 1 storm can easily devastate a poorly conceived highly populated area built at sea level.

Never saw a car bounce an inch off the ground let alone 1+ feet. Never ever heard anyone else make such a claim either. I knew several people who were on the freeway driving. While they detected that something was wrong, not one of them reported their cars bouncing a foot in the air.Sorry CalBoy...I'm laying on the ground watching the cars in the driveways bounce... now I didn't have a ruler, but they were bouncing from side to side and up and down... it was incredible... perhaps it was my location. If it wasn't a foot, it was close to it...GG

I read some of the comments re the story in the link... there were several others like the one here about seeing cars bouncing... and one (#54) from a pilot at the Hayward airport who reported a Lear Jet in one of the hangars bouncing on its landing gear.CalBoy should know I wouldn't tell something that wasn't true... I was alone that day as my husband was traveling on business. He had just turned on the Series game when he heard on the news about the earthquake, and the newscaster said that the area where we live was "devastated." He tried to call me but couldn't get through. So he and a co-worker tried to get a flight from Reno to San Fran but SF airport was closed. So they rented a car and started driving, not knowing what they would find. His co-worker called friends in another area to get news and found out that our area was actually okay. They got home late that night which was a relief to me.GG

Satan was given limited control of the waters.Some speculation, but I find it interesting that one of the worst storms occurred just a few days prior to the election. Perhaps Satan had a hand in that. It allowed a certain individual to get some face time with the media, showing himself as a hero. But that's just crazy, right?
