I've been in Idaho at a family reunion (Lava Hot Springs). I knew there was another thread, but it's title wasn't explicit so I thought some people might not have heard about it.

Tubing, what fun. My husband gets to take off this week for Star Valley for his yearly pilgrimage down the river there. Some day I will be brave enough to go with him...the day we manage to afford one of those massive RVs that comes with a kingsize bed with a massively thick mattress and a oversize jetted bathtub.

I had the misfortune of not visiting my two granddaughters in Ceder City this year and I am still licking my wounds. Lucky man.

My grandkids are within walking distance at the moment and due to my DIL being a homebody (her family lives three blocks away from us), probably will never be further than a few miles away. Now that is a blessing.

I did my duty with roughing it as a kid. My dad would take us all backpacking in Yosemite for every vacation (Mom made the best homemade jerky...she had to guard it with her life or it would be gone before we got there). I don't know if suggestions are being taken at this time, but it would be nice to have access to a streaming and/or downloadable audio versions of each article in the voice of the author. This would help those of us with sight issues as well as those who may want to hear the articles on the go. I realize that the extensive footnoting doesn't lend itself well to an audio format, but as long as there is a textual original, that should suffice for those wishing to check out the documentation.

There is a serious cost issue for audio, however, and we don't know how many would really use it, so we'll see if it is cost effective.

Not quite what your asking, but you can get it via Kindle, and on there you can change the print size. I'm loving this option.

I would absolutely love to here David's audio version of his exellent article. But I think once he started getting in his groove, he would segue into other topics, like this:

David: . . . So, in essence, Nephi is called into the presence of the Council of the Gods. According to Canaanite myth, this council is held on the summit of the Mountain of the Gods in the southern United States, where the intitiate is brought into the presence of other South Carolina pitmasters to receive knowledge on the true smoking techniques of beef and pork (the clean kind of Pork, naturally!). So here, for example, Nephi could be getting instructions on what hardwoods to use while smoking brisket, why a good mop of apple cider every hour or two will keep it moist, etc. Recently uncovered fire-baked clay tablets from Ugarit (I wonder what kind of wood they were using) tell us that the Council would recommend strategically placing a pan of baked beans right under the brisket or pork butt in the smoker so that the drippings will add a God-like flavor. This is truly Baal-licious! And speaking of smokers, we can see both indirect and direct grilling methods at work in Abinidi's death, so let's turn to Mosiah . . .

The internet browsers on my computer enable me to do this as well. However, my problem isn't just with font size, but also with eye strain. Plus, I enjoy listening to good things when I am out getting exercise or while shopping with some of the ladies in my life.

I understand that some of the new Kindles also has a text-to-speech feature that might prove useful, so that may be an option as well, though I haven't checked into the sound quality--I am not sure how much I can stand listening to a synthesized voice.

Yes...and it is not beyond the realm of possibility for there inadvertently to be background noises commensurate with what you are saying, like the tantalizing, though distracting sounds of sizzling steaks on the Barby. LOL

Mine has this option, if I remember correctly, there is a choice of male or female voice. Can't say how good it is, as I've not tried it since, I bought it. Love the Kindle, because it's not backlit, so not so bad on the eyes as options that are. Love the idea of the ladies around you shopping, while you're lost in thought, listening to these wonderful messages. ..but then I hate shopping (the one thing about being home bound, I don't miss) unless it's old book shops or craft/art shops.

I also hate shopping, which is why it would be nice to have a good article to occupy my mind and minimize the irritation of being asked streams of mundane questions my answers to which are immediately ignored. LOL
