KevinG Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 (edited) The presumption that someone would behave on a discussion boards simply because they hold a Temple Recommend is a bad one. There are many well spoken and faithful Saints who do not currently hold a recommend due to personal reasons and the honesty to repent of their sins before returning to the Temple. Bill “Papa” Lee Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I would ask, or the potential poster would be required to type out an affirmation that they had one before being granted access to the celestial level.Sadly many people lie to get in.

It's a hope. The true population I'm trying to draw is, generally speaking, a subset of recommend holders. I will concede some are to be found outside of recommend holders, and I will also concede some recommend holders ought not hold recommends. A recommend is simply a proxy for the true criterion I wish I could use.Sadly many people lie to get in.Yes. As they are found out they would be weeded out. Unfortunately, such is life. Does anyone have any suggestions on a better way to build up a forum on the principles of Zion?
rpn Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I wouldn't, just because of how offensive putting anyone into these supposed categories is. Holding a TR doesn't say anything about one's soul's submission to God's will: only about how one aswered the questions asked (which may or may not have been truthful). And a TR is a floor of expectation, not the example of Godlike expectation. Further, just because one falls far short of objective perfection, doesn't make him terrestrial if he is baptized, repentant and doing his personal best, Christ's atonement makes the person perfect in Him. So all those persons we've decided are Terrestrial, may not be the same ones God thinks should be there. The whole idea is just distasteful. I presume the proposal was meant to be provocative. 1
