Resources For Understanding The Seventies

I am interested in any resources you may have in understanding the Seventies ( the quorum not the decade) it seems it has gone through a lot of changes in the churches history. I am specifically interested in their leadership, scope of authority, and history of the seventies at the stake level.

off the top of my head their was a MA done at BYU years ago by Baumgarten on this subject, just look at BYU masters thesis on Mormonism and should be there, I would but I have to split

On the subject at hand, on my mission we had a ward list that showed one of the men in the ward's priesthood office was "Seventy". My companion thought we had a GA living in the ward until I explained to him about the old stake 70s quorums.

Here's a piece I did last year on this topic.

In writing it, I drew on some very good Ensign articles from years past but, sorry to say, I don't have the references at hand just now.

Add on: I now see that the Ensign article by Elder Tingey that Gohan linked us to above is one that I drew upon.
