Lost in Ohio Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I was very impressed by the example of this ward that meets in the same building as mine does. http://lds.org/churc...ndship?lang=engGiven that so much of what we hear about the church from others seems to be negative, it was nice to read about something so close to home that was positive and uplifting.
Storm Rider Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Thank you for bringing that news forward. It would be a great blessing to see more interfaith cooperation be talked about. I think that a great deal of cooperation already occurs that we just don't know about and I understand that we can all do more.
Stargazer Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 That is just so COOL! I love it!I can see that some things might stick in some folks' craws though. The Rev. Larsen's statement, "The Christ-centeredness is what binds us.” being something perhaps in that vein. After all, we're supposedly not Christian.
blueadept Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I have a non-LDS friend who lives in Poway whom I visited last year. She relayed other positive interactions she had with the LDS church there. Of course, I saw her backyard that was very visible to the neighborhood and I wasn't surprised she had offers to help especially since she's a single mom. A very nice community.
