cdowis Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I lived in Brooklyn in 1963 during the World's Fair, when the LDS church first entered such an ambitious event, especially in the East.. Brooklyn did not even have any missionaries, and we met as a small branch at an army post. When the LDS soldier was tranferred, we had to find a "real" church building. The only stake was Manhattan, and there were several students at Columbia Univ. I remember that our youth teacher was a professor there and I learned a great deal on how to teach from him.A very interesting part of my life.

I'd start with contacting the BYU History Department or the stake presidents in NYC; their contact information should be available from the ward you reside in.
