Temples With Live Endowment?

Recommended Posts

Last I heard Salt Lake and Manti are the only two temples left that still offer a live Endowment (i.e. live actors/ no movie) is this still the case? and, what was the last temple to offer Live Endowments before these two?

Please avoid discussion of sacred temple content when addressing this question.

It will be monitored closely like all temple related topics.

Your care is appreciated!

Yes, that's right. There were several who did, including the Arizona temple. When the AZ temple was remodeled in 1974, it changed from 'live' to film. I was fortunate to be involved in that effort. :-)

I would highly recommend endowed members who have access to Temple visit to Salt Lake or Manti take advantage of that opportunity. There is a lot of symbolism and beauty built into the very architecture of those temples that helped me more fully grasp the significance of the important Temple ordinances. Even sessions in other Temples mean more to me now having experienced the Salt Lake and Manti ceremonies.

Plus there are additional ceremonial 'actions' that for some reason or other were not translated into the film presentation. I also highly recommend those who can participate in a Live Endowment.

Agreed that a live endowment is something to make sure that one does at least once. Heh. The LDS equivalent of the Haj.
