Popular Post juliann Posted June 16, 2011 Popular Post Posted June 16, 2011 I know this breaks board rules but I have been missing in action and it seems I have missed quite a bit. I had the good luck to be running about the country as some very unpleasant events unfolded. The day before I left, I received notice that a link to a meme using a photo of me was posted on Dr. Shades board and it was allowed to stay there which created a lot of traffic on the meme. Some vulgar things had been written but also some very funny word plays off the word "ban". I had very limited exposure after that and I am still not caught up on the chain of events. Evidently, it got so vicious that even some members of Dr. Shades board objected and began putting up blank memes to fill up the pages and I appreciate that. I understand that some who did try to stop this were also targeted. I made a committment to never look at Dr. Shades board several years ago because of the ongoing hurtful comments. What I know about it is from second hand accounts and I'm keeping it that way. I am hoping some good can come out of this. It seems that there are simmering resentments from exchanges that occurred years ago. I don't hold grudges and I just don't care about either side of the story anymore. If someone is still angry with me I am sincerely sorry. I don't know how to fix it because after all this time I don't understand it.... but I would hope that everyone could set aside hard feelings, forgive and move on. I have. Life is too good to remain mired in negativity and blame year after year after year. Here is hoping for a brighter, kinder cyber-future for all of us. 10
KevinG Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Ahhh the joys of being a lightening rod. Don't let it get you down.
MorningStar Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Rule breaker! I shall punish you until the end of time.
Mike Reed Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Thanks Juliann. Nice to hear that some MDb participants aren't all that bad. I look forward to seeing you at the FAIR conference.
juliann Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 BTW, I really appreciate Nemesis' concern over this. Denizens of this board can rest assured he does everything he can to protect them. 4
Deborah Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I had visited that board for the first time and looked up what they were saying about me and a few others. I think they need to take down their thread using our quotes out of content and then mocking us if they are sincere about moving on and get out of the negativity trap. A very puerile demonstration of what one does when he has no argument that will stand.
Jeff K. Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Not sure what other board they are speaking of, but it sounds as if it is a comfortable nesting place for anti-Mormons who still use the name Mormon. As my monicker below stipulates, you always rise or fall to the kingdom you are most comfortable with.
LeSellers Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 As my monicker below stipulates, you always rise or fall to the kingdom you are most comfortable with.I'm sorry to pick this nit, but do you have any idea what a "moniker" is? This is at least the second time you've used the word to mean "a quotation", but that's not even close.LehiP.S.: a moniker is a person's name or nickname.
Jeff K. Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) Chuckle, not "exactly" a personal name, but a descriptor or phrase which describes my position somewhat, not quite the name though, I agree that I am abusing the language horribly. Edited June 23, 2011 by Jeff K.
