Duncan Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I know that Sister Bonnie D. Parkin was in the YW General Pres and was released and then later called to be the RS General President. So, building on that precident ( I hope I spelled that right), I was wondering if let's say Elder Hyrum W. Whoever was released or granted Emeritus status from the Seventy could he be, a few years later, called to say be an Apostle when there is a vacancy?
katherine the great Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Sure. Janitor Hyrum Whoever could be called as an apostle too. There is no prerequisite other than being a High Priest. Most emeritus GAs are 70 or older though so its not likely, at least judging from the ages of the most recent additions.
Doctrine 612 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 There is no prerequisite other than being a High Priest. I don't think it even calles for that since apostle is a priesthood office, I know that you only need be a high priest to serve as a counsoler in the first presidency
