Ouija Boards And Evil Spirits

I've had expeiences with the ouija board that I can't explain. One of my friends had the planchette thing fly across the room, had it tell her accurate information that she didn't already know, and things like that. It would also stop working when I entered the room. I'm very surprised that people people here that have no practical experience with ouija boards would be so quick to explain them away as not working supernaturally.

They have to explain them away because their aetheist worldview demands it.

I'm not an atheist. Was there something about your worldview that demanded you assume that?

I'm not surprised that people believe in Ouija boards, other than the fact that it is so easy to test them and prove there are no supernatural forces at work. I guess I'm a little disappointed that people haven't taken opportunities to ask questions about the boards, and instead have accepted the "spiritual" hypothesis outright.

For example, Gordon's claim...

the spirit isn't moving the arms, it is moving the pointer.

...is easily testable in dozens of different ways. You don't have to assume its a spirit moving the pointer, you can actually make a hypothesis and formulate different tests to see if it is the people moving the pointer on their own accord, or a spirit is moving their arms, or a spirit is moving the pointer and their arms are just along for the ride. Or any of the dozens of other things that can cause a pointer to move on a board.
